Three of my most favourite bands and their music

Hey guys! I was just casually browsing through some of my favourite songs in Youtube and I thought of sharing some (specifically three) of my favourite music bands and their songs with you all here.

Most of the songs that I always listen to are old songs. I prefer listening to older songs compared to modern musics because I find that most newer songs are boring- they all have almost the same beat or composition and some of them don't even make any sense at all; the lyrics are just absurd. I don't hate modern music in fact, I like some of them like Dua Lipa's New Rules, Yuna's Black Marquee and Bilie Eilish's Bad Guy but just most of them aren't up my alley.

And now, I present you my top three favourite music bands along with some of their music:

QUEEN

Legendary British rock band, Queen.

I loooooove their songs! I have constantly raved about their music to my friends and in my social media accounts because their songs are really damn good. I daren't say that I'm a fan of ALL their songs, I mean there are a few of them which aren't my favourites but still I enjoy listening to many of their songs, especially those that were featured in their 'Greatest Hits' albums.

Listening to their music makes me feel good. Songs like 'don't stop me now' or 'we will rock you' give positive vibes and they have the magic to uplift one's mood. Trust me, you just have to give their songs a listen to truly understand how amazing they sound!

Musics

This song's a real gem and it has been dubbed as the happiest song on earth, according to a study done by Dr Jojij.

Most popular song ever and possibly one of the longest songs ever made in history.

My absolutely favourite song of all time.

Another one of my favourites!

COLDPLAY

One of the top modern music bands til this date, Coldplay.

Just like Queen, they are also a British rock band. I started listening to their songs since young because our local radio stations would play some of their hits like 'Fix You', 'Viva la Vida' and 'Yellow'. To me, Coldplay has always been one of the coolest bands because they produce songs that are pretty chill but at the same time, addictive. I still prefer their older songs compared to the latest ones.

Some of their songs are uplifting while some of them are pretty emotional. Their songs have helped me get through many tough times I once had back then as a teenager and so I do have some sentimental attachments towards their songs.

I play this followed by the song below, Fix You whenever I feel down.

A local radio station favourite.

One of their uplifting musics!

MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK (MLTR)

There used to be 4 members in the band but now they are only left with 3 members.

Another classical soft rock band, Michael Learns to Rock. Some of you may have known or even heard of them since a long time ago. MLTR was my dad's favourite band and he used to play their songs almost everyday in his car and so that's where I was exposed to their music. They then became my favourite childhood music band since then. Their songs are also frequently played in our local radio stations back in those days. One of their most popular songs was 'Paint my Love'.

Also.. they started following my twitter account since 2 years ago! I was thrilled!
(Weird flex but ok)

Hope you'll enjoy listening to these songs!
Btw, what's your favourite band?

Xing Fu Tang bubble milk tea review - Worth The Hype?

THE BOBA TEA TREND IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD- I repeat THE BOBA TEA TREND IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!

Like literally man.

People in Malaysia have been treating boba tea or better known as 'bubble milk tea' like it's some sort of holy drink in the most recent years especially in 2018 and the present (2019). Social medias like instagram or even twitter are filled with loads of bubble milk tea pictures like nobody's business. Not to mention, the entire Klang Valley is now booming with so many new boba stores.

I mean, what is going on man? Why is everyone even crazy about boba milk teas nowadays? Are they really that amazing? I mean, I've had a lot of cups of boba teas myself as well for the past few months but I think they're just milk teas with chewy tapioca balls. Honestly, it wasn't anything mind-blowing to me.

It was known to me that one of the biggest bubble milk tea chains which is Xing Fu Tang have established their new stores here in Malaysia and it was only available in locations like SS15 (Subang), Kepong and Setapak. People were raving about how good these milk teas are and how different it is from other ordinary boba milk teas they have tasted before. Don't even get me started on the pictures man, they all look so bloody good.

And yep, that's how my sister and I got conned. We then decided to give this boba milk tea store a try since it's such a popular thing in town now. I hope we ain't late to this XFT milk tea party 😬

The XFT store that we went to was the one located in Laman Rimbunan, Kepong. The store is spacious and its walls are painted in white. Only complaint was that the cashier lady was a little bit rude. Other than that, everything was fine.

Brown Sugar Boba Milk

We ordered a cup of brown sugar boba milk tea to share. RM12.50.

According to youtube videos and various online sources, we have to stir the drink 18 times to fully enjoy the drink's taste.

Thoughts

The boba was freshly roasted with, of course as the name suggests, brown sugar and it was still hot when the drink was served to us. The liquified brown sugar that was clinging onto the inner walls of the cup then began to crystallise as it comes into contact with the ice cold milk, turning into tiny pieces of brown sugar flakes. Thus, whenever you sip the drink, you can feel there are some tiny sugar flakes inside of your mouth so do remember to chew a bit and don't drink it in a gulp otherwise it might scratch your throat.

The drink consists of very sweet frothy milk that has a creamy texture to it. The boba(s) were really chewy. The brown sugar was nicely cooked- it doesn't have any burnt taste to it. I dislike brown sugar milk teas that have a burnt caramel-ly taste.

I would rate this drink a 7.5/10 cuz it's pretty good- it's got that rich milk and cream taste but unfortunately it was too darn sweet. It made me feel like I was drinking a cupful of sugar..

Mango Smoothie with Rabbit Panna Cotta

Mango Smoothie with Rabbit Panna Cotta, RM14.50.

Look at that cute little white rabbit sitting on top of the drink!

Thoughts

This drink is slightly more expensive than the brown sugar boba milk probably because it's made of real mango puree. This drink also consists of pink coloured strawberry flavoured boba. Funky! This mango smoothie was blended til smooth using real mangoes instead of those chemically sweet mango cordial syrups.

The boba(s) were strawberry flavoured however, I couldn't really taste any strawberry flavours in it maybe because the drink itself is already rich with the taste of mango, hence overpowering the flavours of the strawberry boba.

The white rabbit panda cotta doesn't really have any flavours or distinctive taste to it. I think it's just made out of agar powder and cream.

I would rate this drink a 7/10 and again, it was too sugary for my liking..

Green Tea with Lemon Slices

RM9.50 (if not mistaken)

Thoughts

This one's a pretty ordinary drink consisted of merely green tea, sugar and lemon slices. I've nothing much to say about this one because it's just a pretty standard type of drink. What could possibly go wrong with lemon and tea? But it was definitely quite pricey compared to many other types of drinks you could get out there.

The fun thing about this store is that it has a huge wooden box engraved with Chinese numericals that allows you to pick your lucky quote of the day. First, pick your stick from a huge wooden container right underneath that box. Then, referring to the number stated on that stick, you get one piece of paper from one of those tiny drawers. There you have it, your quote of the day. Some quotes are inspirational and some are a bit silly- like the one in the picture above haha.

Verdict

I think the beverages were okay, it's actually quite nice but it wasn't truly bombastic or anything. To me, it was not really worth the hype. But still, for those of you who are fine with really sweet beverages, you can definitely give these boba teas a go!

BLUE LATTE? 💙☕ - Jamaica Blue, Midvalley

Last week, my sis and I decided to have our lunch at the Jamaica Blue cafe located on the first floor of Midvalley. The cafe has been there for years but we have never really thought of trying it out with our parents before since my dad isn't really into western food. That morning was the perfect opportunity for us to try the food out there since we were kinda craving for western food and only both of us were there.

We 'discovered' this cafe through the zomato app while browsing for restaurants and cafes.

The ordering process is simple. Just head over to the counter to place your order and they will hand you a table number stand. After that, just choose wherever you want to sit and place that number stand on your table and the staffs will deliver the food and drinks to you.

There are also a lot of cakes and pastries for you to choose from the counter.

Blue latte. RM14.10 (large).

Instead of ordering coffee, my sis and I agreed to try out their blue latte since it's blue! It's got a very interesting colour unlike other normal latte(s) that have a soft brown colour. Both of us shared a cup since we don't feel like drinking much that day.

It turned out that this blue latte had no coffee in it at all! According to their website, it is actually a blend of white chocolate, milk and blue curaçao syrup. Sounds basic but it actually tasted really good! The blue latte had a very sweet vanilla taste to it and not too sugary. We loved it.

I had a big breakfast set to myself, RM24.90.

This breakfast platter consisted of tomatoes, mushrooms, a sausage, ham slices, bread, omelette and I'm not really sure what the other thing was.. maybe two slices of cheese? It is also served with some tomato sauce and margarine.

The big breakfast was not bad but the sausage and the 'cheese slices' were a little bit too salty.

Sis had potato hash with mushrooms, tomatoes and poached eggs, RM18.30.

Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. The thing that I liked the most from here would definitely be the blue latte since it tasted pretty good and the colour was really pretty as well.
