December 2016

Untitled

Hello all! Hope you guys are doing fine as always. It's crazy to see how time flies so fast and we're now in the midst of December. I'm turning 20 in 3 months time! Reality is hitting me so hard in the face right now. 😰😬

Uni life was crazyyyyy. The stress is real. The amount of books that we need to read is also insane. I really hope that I could cope with the reading part because god knows how hard my struggles are with the fancy languages used in such books. How I wish all books are written in simple and comprehensive language cuz that will really help me save my time in searching for key points. Thank god the traffic jam lately wasn't as bad as the previous months because the school children are currently having their holidays. I always get this feeling where the rest of my friends are enjoying their uni life and then there's me, struggling with the load of uncompleted tasks and pending homeworks. Urgh. Shit has gotten real.

Okay, I kindda feel guilty now sitting in front of the laptop and updating my blog instead of spending my time reading notes... Nevermind, f*ck it.

Here, I would like to take the opportunity to sum up the things that I've done in the year 2016.

1. I've completed A-levels and graduated from college.
2. Enrolled into university and currently taking an LLB law programme.
3. Got obsessed with lipsticks and makeup.
4. Accidentally scratched my car twice.
5. Procrastination.
6. Tried out the buffet in Shangri-la because everyone was raving how good the buffet was.
7. More procrastination.
8. Got engrossed with water calligraphy.
9. ... I forgot what more I've done in this entire year so it's okay, let's just proceed with the other stuff 😝

Nothing interesting or exciting has taken place in my life this year so I would say the year 2016 had been peaceful to me. On a brighter side, I got to see my little baby niece for a few times this year and it's really magical to see her grow. 😊

Here's a little food exploration update,

Untitled
What's the best way to feel festive and Christmas-y? Buy a starbucks drink cuz their cups are red and festive af hohoho. ⛄✨

Untitled
Ikea chicken meatballs are love!

Untitled
Their moist chocolate cake was good too!

Untitled
Tried out this thai restaurant, Thai Tuk Tuk at publika with my fam the other day. What I liked about the restaurant is that they serve a variety of thai desserts. Desserts are my thing. 🍨

Untitled
Thai pink milk.

Untitled
Not sure if it's just me or this drink tastes literally like an ordinary strawberry milk.

Untitled
Mango with sticky rice, this was good but a little bit too sweet for me.

Untitled
This was my coconut shake, I would say it's not bad but again, a bit too sweet for my liking.

Untitled
Overall, I would say that their food was so-so in my own opinion, but it's a great place to enjoy all sorts of thai desserts!

Untitled\
Milkcow blue sea salt ice cream. I love this! It's a tad salty (the name of the ice cream is self-explanatory enough) but it also tasted really creamy! Thumbs up. 👍

Untitled
Last month, my fam and I tried out a japanese restaurant called Izakaya Hokkaido in publika.

Untitled

Untitled
I ordered a salmon pot rice. The interesting thing about this dish is that it requires 15-20 minutes for it to be fully cooked.

Untitled
Edamame.

Untitled
Cold spinning noodles!

Untitled
Sweet potato balls.

Untitled

Untitled
Fried chicken chop with fries.

Untitled
Salmon cabbage soup, dad's favourite dish. 😆

Untitled

Untitled
The cooked salmon rice was pretty good! The rice itself was flavourful and it has a strong seaweed smell and taste. The dishes from this place was not bad even though it was a bit pricey.

For all my loyal readers who has been continuing reading my blog these years and still patiently waiting for new updates, I would like to say a big thank you and do forgive me for the less frequent updates cuz you know, it has never been easy to keep up with social media updates when you're a student. I really wish I could bring more updates into this little space too. Also, many thanks to those who are new to my blog. It's really meaningful to me when you guys take some time off just to read my blog posts. 😍

Thank you for making my year a memorable one, guys!

Menya Miyabi Hokkaido Ramen, Sunway Pyramid & Ben's General food store, Publika

As promised, I'm back with another food post! :)

I'll start this post off with the ramen shop that my mum, sis and I went to last sunday at sunway pyramid. The name of the ramen shop was Menya Miyabi Hokkaido Ramen. It's located next to the Sunway Clio's hotel lobby area.

Untitled
The entrance of the ramen shop.

Untitled
I really love restaurants with minimalist concepts.

Untitled
The menu. Based on my own point of view, the prices of the food here is more on the expensive side.

Untitled

Untitled
Green tea hot/cold priced at RM2.80 each.

Untitled
Fried chicken karaage and potato croquette. I forgot both of the prices. Oh, and we did actually ordered a bowl of edamame.

Untitled
I had the tonkotsu ramen. It was quite salty but fred not, you can always ask for an extra bowl of soup to dilute the taste of it. :) RM25.

Untitled
Sis ordered the spicy tan tan ramen priced at RM25 as well. I still prefer the ramen at Menya Yamato menjalara. Total bill came about RM110+ oh my..

And at night, we went to try out the Ben's general food store at publika. Just ordered two things for dinner because we weren't hungry that night.

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled
Fresh lemonade, RM14.90 if not mistaken.

Untitled

Untitled
We ordered a pan of pineapple party pizza (chicken and pineapple). RM28. I must say, the pizza tasted really really good! The ingredients were really fresh and the texture of it was soft.

Untitled
We ordered another sweet dessert pizza. This one's maple syrup with banana and mascarpone. RM17. Another worth trying dish! :)

Okay, have to go and study now, see you soon! :)

Chimi Churri at Jaya One, PJ

Hello there! It's thursday which also means my break day of the week. Just finished up my part for the mpu subject, can't believe that I'll still be doing mpu as a subject in uni. *rolls eyes* School was fine but extremely tiring due to the long study hours which starts from 9 and ends at 5 each day. Still got a lot of reading to catch up! :(

Last two weeks, my college friend Huey Leng fetched us out for lunch at Jaya One. We had our lunch at a place called Chimi Churri. To me, Chimi Churri sounded like a very cute name for a restaurant. They serve fresh food ranging from wraps to sandwiches and to rice bowls. Tbh, I find that the food there seemed 'too healthy' for me because I'm not a huge fan of mushed up vegetables or steamed vegetables and I don't usually take 'healthy' food for lunch. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the food there, it's just that I'm not used to such dishes. Anyways for a change, I grabbed the wrap for lunch.

Untitled

Untitled
First step, choose what type of meal you'd like. I chose to have the wrap with chicken breast meat. RM 9.90.

Untitled
Next step is to choose your combination of warm fillings or vegetables. I picked the roasted vegetables.

Untitled
Lastly, choose the dressing/sauces you prefer to be served with your dish. I had BBQ and chimi churri sauce (I guess that restaurant was actually named after that sauce hehe).

Untitled
The interior of the restaurant. Oh and if I'm not mistaken, they do serve fruit infused drinking water for their customers too. :)

Untitled
This was my wrap with chicken breast, roasted vegetables and BBQ and chimi churri sauce. Overall, the wrap tasted not bad but it was just a little too bland for me. I liked the flatbread wrap itself a lot as it was soft and chewy. :D

And that is it for today's post!

Snack hunt at Pav KL (Eggette lab & Churros Royale dessert bar)

Untitled

YOOOOO GUYSSSSS! The people who are reading this right now, you must be feeling happy that I finally took some time off to blog about something right? Hehehe. How was law school? The fact that I haven't been exposed to the law subject before even in A-levels, has definitely made it a lot more difficult for me to adapt to the subject itself. I'm not really used to the routine of heavy reading yet and maybe eventually I will (even if I can't I must make it work somehow).

Untitled
The law book is so much thicker than my face (jokes).

Jokes aside, I'm here today to share with you guys about the snacks that I've tried at Pavilion last weekend. The first thing I went for was the eggettes from the eggette lab. Read lots of reviews online and most people said this stall serves really great eggettes and yeap, they were right. I've only had eggettes once before in Singapore and it wasn't really nice, the shells of the eggettes were too crunchy and the insides were hard. So I was really excited to try this one out!

The menu.

Untitled
After payment, we were required to wait for our turn to collect the eggettes.

Untitled
Fresh out of the eggette waffle maker. The flavour I bought was original. RM4.40.

Untitled
The insides were soft and yes, they tasted really really good!

I'm sure most of you must have heard the word 'churros' before and know what it looks like so I guess I don't need to elaborate further. I've always heard about how good churros tasted like and all fancy things about it and yeah, that's how I decided to give it a try.

Untitled

Untitled
I chose the mixed chocolate flavoured churros. RM10.50.

Untitled
Here is a picture of what it looked like!

I always thought churros were really nice pastry-like desserts and judging by their appearance, they must taste like bomb but nope, it tasted nothing like what I expected. :( To me, it tasted like some fried youtiao (yao zha guai) in a harder and chewier version. Maybe it was just me haha.

So that's all for now, more food posts will be coming up soon!
